SBA Legislative Update:

Discussion surrounding the Small Business Lending Bill (also known as H.R. 5297) invoked cloture on amendments Monday evening in the Senate. Votes were as follows:

                                • Ayes 70
                                • Nays 23

Upon approval of amendments, H.R. 5297 in its entirety will possibly move towards cloture this week, August 5th-6th. The bill which contains a continuation of the 90% guarantee, an extension of the guarantee fee waiver, and a permanent increase in the SBA lending limit from 2mm to 5mm will be pushed back due to an extended recess by the Senate and House.
